Energy Builder Strawberry Banana Smoothie

Give your immune system a boost of nutrition with this smoothie made with just 5 ingredients. The kefir and banana contain beneficial bacteria and fiber that support the gut microbiome, the strawberries are an excellent source of vitamin C, and the chia and pumpkin seeds add healthy fat plus minerals magnesium, iron, and zinc.

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups unsweetened 1% milkfat kefir 
2 tablespoons chia seeds
1/4 cup raw shelled pumpkin seeds
2 cups fresh, ripe strawberries, hulled
1 medium frozen banana

Instructions

  1. Place kefir, chia seeds, pumpkin seeds, strawberries, and banana in a blender jar, cover, and blend on high speed for about 30 seconds or until mixture is liquified.

  2. Divide between two glasses and serve.
