How long will it take to see my results and recommendations?
After your samples are received at our lab, and your questionnaires are completed, you should see your results in about 2-3 weeks.
What if I am taking medications or supplements?
You can still conduct Viome testing while on medication or supplements. For more information, read our full FAQ.
Should I wait to take my test?
There’s no need to wait to take your test. However, if you are currently on antibiotics, you may wish to wait. Read more about that in our full FAQ.
Do I need to fast prior to collecting blood and saliva?
Yes, fasting is necessary prior to collecting both your blood and saliva samples.
We recommend collecting both your saliva and blood samples first thing in the morning after you wake, before brushing your teeth or using mouthwash, or before eating any food or drinking anything other than water.
When is the best time to collect my saliva, blood, and stool samples?
Collecting your saliva and blood samples should be done first thing in the morning, after you wake, before brushing your teeth or using mouthwash, or before eating any food or drinking anything other than water.
Collecting your stool sample can be done at any time during the day.
We recommend collecting all three of your samples for your Full Body Intelligence Test on the same day if possible, but within 3 days for best results. Send all 3 samples back (in the one provided mailing envelope) when you have finished collecting.
What if I have food sensitivities or allergies?
If you have known sensitivities or allergies to any foods, you should refrain from eating them, no matter where they are placed on your different food recommendation lists.
The Viome testing process uses a stool sample to conduct an analysis of your gut microbiome. Stool samples do not contain the necessary immune markers needed to pinpoint specific food allergens or sensitivities. We do not currently test for food sensitivities or incorporate known allergies when providing food recommendations.
If you receive a food recommendation to which you have an allergy, do not eat that food. We want you to feel your best, so known allergies and sensitivities should be taken into account when you follow your Viome recommendations.
How do you store my information?
Viome stores your information securely. To ensure the confidentiality of your data and your results, we separate users' personally identifiable information (PII) from personal health information (PHI) and use multiple layers of encryption. We do not provide your information or results to employers or health insurance companies. Viome will never sell your information to any other group or company. Read more in our full FAQ.
How long will my be kit be good for?
Your kit will be ready for you to use when you choose, however, Viome requires that you return your sample to us for processing within six (6) months of your purchase date. Read more in our full FAQ.
How long does it take to see any changes?
Your recommendations are unique to you! It typically takes about 90 days to see the effects of a new diet on your microbiome, so sticking to your recommendations is key.
Why do I have only one return envelope included in my test kit if I have multiple samples?
One mailing envelope simplifies the process of sending your samples back. Please place each of your collection tubes in their own ziplock bags and seal. Next, place all ziplock bags into the one return envelope provided. Seal, then send. We recommend dropping the envelope off at your local post office and getting a receipt.
