Viome’s breakthrough Health Intelligence™ service was released to much excitement and interest earlier this year within the health therapeutics, precision health, and systems biology industries. Since that time there has been much news and publicity around this at-home test that can put your personal health back into your hands, and offer you a high-resolution, “digital snapshot” of your current health on a molecular level, with precise food and supplement recommendations for you to put into action for better health.

One particular score from the over 30 available from Health Intelligence, has garnered much interest and publicity since the release: the Biological Age score.

How does the Biological Age score work?

This groundbreaking score lets you know how old your body says it is--this may be older or younger than your chronological age according to your birth certificate .

The Biological Age score assesses the efficiency of your cellular activities and your gut microbial activities in order to determine how well you are aging in comparison with your chronological age. If your Biological Age is substantially higher than your chronological age, this means that your body is aging faster compared with other people your age.

Precise food and supplement recommendations will target the underlying causes for this rapid aging detailed in your other Integrative Health scores (Gut Microbiome Health, Stress Response Health, Immune System Health, Cellular Health, and Mitochondrial Health).

The underlying algorithm for calculating your Biological Age is fully data-driven and uses machine learning to discover molecular activity patterns in your gut microbiome and the cells in your body.

Viome’s comprehensive AI platform has analyzed data from more than 100,000 people to be able to match the molecular patterns from your data to people of different ages, which we use to predict your approximate biological age.

Biological Age and Longevity with Peter Diamandis

Peter H. Diamandis, entrepreneur, executive chairman of the XPRIZE Foundation, author, physician, and longevity expert, recently hosted an online webinar with Viome CEO Naveen Jain, and CSO Momo Vuyisich.

Naveen and Momo join Peter to discuss the ultimate vision of the Viome platform, insight into the different technologies used, including testing and AI, and also give an understanding of how the Viome Precision Health and Systems Biology platform can help people all over the world improve their health and longevity.

Don’t miss this electrifying conversation about how science is actually at a point where individuals can really begin to optimize their health, find out what foods make us ill, what foods energize us, and what precise supplements we should be taking fro maximize our health, our vitality, and longevity.

Under the Microscope with CTO Guru Banavar

Just recently Viome launched their live, online web series “Under the Microscope” which takes an ongoing look at the science and technology behind Viome products and procedures, as well as trends in the Precision Health and Systems Biology industries.

In the first episode, Rob Pellow, Viome Director of Strategic Partnerships interviews Guru Banavar, Viome’s Chief Technology Officer.

Guru is responsible for all the AI work that happens at Viome. Viome’s Artificial Intelligence is able to process massive data sets and discover patterns algorithmically to find correlations among microorganisms, their functions, and external issues that people face. And this is what the Biological Age score is all about.

Tune in to watch Rob and Guru discuss the unique technology of Health Intelligence and how this test sees your health from a Systems Biology perspective—microbial, cellular, and mitochondrial aspects.

Guru gives some exciting insights into the Biological Age score, how it assesses how well you are aging in comparison to your chronological age—and how Health Intelligence helps us uncover what is causing the aging of our cells and body and what we can do to help bring it under control.

Latest Published Findings on Biological Age

Our last exciting update (at least for now!) centers around a newly published paper from the Viome Science and Technology team. “An accurate aging clock developed from the largest dataset of microbial and human gene expression reveals molecular mechanisms of aging” is the Viome team’s latest publication exploring the technology behind the Biological Age score.

This paper was a huge achievement for the Viome team and we congratulate them!

More updates coming on this revolutionary new technology in health and longevity, as they happen!
