Lan Hu, PhD, serves as Head of Data Science and Bioinformatics at Viome Life Sciences, where she leads the computational teams that process and analyze metatranscriptomic sequencing data from millions of biological samples.

With a PhD in Bioinformatics and an MS in Computer Systems Engineering from Boston University, and decades of experience in next-generation sequencing, bioinformatics, precision medicine, and machine learning, she brings cross-disciplinary expertise spanning health tech, biotech, and top cancer research institutions. Previously, she served as Director of Global Data Science at Merck, Sr. Manager Analytics & Solution Architect at Philips, Senior Scientist at Bio-Rad Laboratories, and Senior Scientist Bioinformatics at Exosome Diagnostics.
