Guruduth Banavar, PhD, serves as Founding CTO & Head of Discovery AI at Viome Life Sciences, where he leads the engineering and AI teams that power Viome's precision health platform.
With a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Utah and over 25 years of experience in AI and distributed systems, he brings deep expertise in machine learning, natural language processing, and large-scale data analytics. Previously, he served as Global Vice President at IBM Research, where he led the Watson AI program and served on CEO Ginni Rometty's executive leadership team.
